Description
TEAC UD-HD1 USB audio DAC (digital to analogue converter) is part of TEAC's 2011 reference hi-fi range, designed to get the best sound from your PC, Mac, or any other digital audio source for your hi-fi or headphone amplifier. This DAC is a first for the TEAC brand, a high end design to fill the need to get the most from a computer/Mac/USB digital music as a serious hi-fi source.
Features include high-resolution 32bit/192kHz dual BurrBrown DACs with 192kHz up-conversion, allowing you to "upsample" the sound possible from lower resolution music files.
Digital inputs include USB, coaxial and optical with RCA and balanced XLR outputs (quite a boon at the price!) along with a headphone output jack with it's own volume control. The latter is a dedicated internal design, built to drive many models of high end headphones including models such as the AKG Q701, Grado GS1000i, or Sennheiser HD800. Having said that, you can use a separate additional headphone amplifier if you wish with the UD-HD1 for even better sound.
